PLEASE SHUT UP By Glory Uwakwe

Hey beautiful people, it's me again and "oh lawd" have i missed writing to you? definitely YES! A lot has happened this couple of months and indeed the saying that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is legit and real and your girl came back stronger and to share one of the lessons learnt this couple of months.

Major changes had happened these past few months from losing my father to making the most important decision in my life and to finally witnessing my twin sister give birth to her own child (not literally my twin) and I tell you it's been a rollercoaster of emotions coming from one tagged as "emotionless". Lol... Thank God, I am coming out of it all gradually.

My absence from social media and lots of things made a couple of people to confront me saying that I abandoned them over the months and didn't get them involved in my celebration, lol, they had no idea, I apologised most the time because I really lost the zeal or found the need to explain in a situation where conclusion has already been drawn; well not until a very close friend called recently and after listening to my story he apologized and ended with "I had no idea". Now that's the point because most of the times we have no idea about the battles people fight on a daily basis but because they still managed to appear ok, you conclude that they forgot you or they ignored you or are jealous of you.

Sometimes it's all bigger than you can imagine, as the same person trying to look ok, may have lost a job and you are angry because they didn't wish you a happy birthday as usual, or they might even be mentally down but because they always encouraged and didn't do that the last you spoke with them they now hate you all of a sudden. Well I came to ask you to 'SHUT UP" and give people a break. Normalize even making up healthy excuses for them at least based on previous track record of being there for you.

And finally, I came to ask you to please grow up for your own sake; be responsible for yourself and always remember nobody owes you anything and if they decide to stop doing what they use to do for, that doesn't make them bad people. This sense of entitlement especially in this part of the world and Africa must stop, if we are to cultivate healthy and not parasitic relationships. Finally please normalize resisting the urge to defend yourself in every situation even when you know it is not in your favour. I promise you it's all part of the master plan just like in the case of Potiphar's wife and Joseph because in the end the king knew Joseph and God's will was done.(This post is dedicated to women all over the world making sure things get done,we see you,we appreciate you and we love you all).
