My dear child,
If you’re reading this, it means time has passed—and we’ve both grown.
Before anything else, I want you to know this:
you were wanted long before you were understood.
Long before I knew your personality, your strengths, or your struggles, I chose you with my whole heart.
There may have been moments I didn’t get it right.
Moments I was tired. Moments I was learning. Moments I had to pause and grow alongside you.
But never—not once—were you a burden to me.
If I ever made you feel like love had conditions, I’m sorry.
That was never the truth.
I hope you always felt safe enough to be yourself around me.
Safe enough to cry without being rushed.
Safe enough to question without being shamed.
Safe enough to rest without guilt.
If the world ever tried to tell you that you had to earn love, I hope my voice was louder.
I hope you learned that God is near, not harsh.
That faith is a refuge, not a performance.
That grace meets you even on your worst days.
I hope you know you don’t have to carry everyone.
Your empathy is a gift—but your peace matters too.
You are allowed to have boundaries.
You are allowed to choose joy.
You are allowed to take up space.
If life ever feels heavy, please remember this:
You were never meant to do it all alone.
And if one day you outgrow me—as children are meant to do—
I will still be proud.
Because my goal was never to keep you close,
but to help you stand whole.
Wherever you go, whoever you become,
may you always know this truth:
You are deeply loved.
You are enough.
And you were always free to be you.
With all my love,
Your mum.
