If Fear Has Been Holding You Back, Read This

Hi dear friend,

I’ve been thinking a lot about fear lately — the kind that creeps into our minds quietly and lingers longer than we want to admit. And as I reflected, I realized something powerful:

Fear is one of the emotions God speaks about the most in Scripture.

Not once, not occasionally… but over 365 times.
Some say that’s one reminder for each day of the year.

Whether symbolic or literal, the message is clear:
God knows fear is the enemy’s loudest weapon — and He refuses to let it define our steps.

Throughout Scripture, God repeats the same steadying truth:

“Fear not, for I am with you…” — Isaiah 41:10

“Be strong and courageous… I will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6

“Do not be discouraged… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

These verses aren’t just poetic encouragement.
They’re reminders of presence, strength, and partnership — God saying, “I’m right here. You don’t have to carry this alone.”

But here’s the part we often forget:
Fear doesn’t disappear just because we’re believers.

The greatest feel fear.
The quietest feel fear.
The boldest feel fear too.

The difference isn’t the absence of fear — it’s the decision to move anyway.

Fear of the unknown.
Fear of rejection.
Fear of starting again.
Fear of failure.
Fear of what success may demand.

We’ve all felt one of these. Maybe you’re feeling one right now.

But here’s truth for your heart today:

Fear is mostly powerless once you cross to the other side of it.
It looks big from the front… and so small once you walk through.

So here’s my encouragement to you this week:

Do it afraid.
Say yes afraid.
Start the work afraid.
Send the application afraid.
Share your gift afraid.
Walk into the room afraid.

Just don’t stay stuck.

Because on the other side of fear is the version of you God always intended — strengthened, uplifted, and held by His righteous right hand.

And through every step, He whispers the same words:

“Fear not. I am with you.”

Carry that with you this week.

 Reflection Corner

Take a moment to pause and ask yourself:

1. What fear has been trying to hold me back recently?

2. What small step can I take — even afraid — toward what God is nudging me to do?

3. Who do I need to become on the other side of this fear?

Write it down. Pray over it. Speak God’s promises to it.

 Before you Go

If this blessed you, share it with someone who needs a reminder that fear is not their master — God is their strength.

You never know whose breakthrough is waiting on your forward step.

Until next time,
Grace and courage, always. 🤍
